It is believed that cedarwood oil was one of the very first extracts that man ever used. Throughout centuries, cedarwood has been a major part of religious beliefs and practices in India, Asia and Africa. It was known as "wood of the gods" due to its extreme power. This made it a crucial part of all ceremonies held to heal illness as well as clear the mind and calm wild spirits. Ancient Egyptians prized this oil for its embalming purposes and also built Solomon's Temple using cedarwood. Modern research now shows that cedarwood oil can be used as an effective antioxidant, antiseptic, antibacterial, expectorant and more.
