Whoever thought that an essential oil would forever remain a benchmark of the wild and free-spirited counter-culture revolution of the '60s? Decades later that aromatic memory still lingers in our consciousness.

Legend has it that centuries prior, Napoleon introduced this exotic, intoxicating scent to Europe. As expensive clothing and objects were transported along trade routes - Patchouli leaves were packed in the trunks with these goods to preserve them. When merchants would open the trunks to inspect the goods if the scent of Patchouli wasn't present they would doubt their authenticity. Today, the strong, earthy and slightly sweet scent of Patchouli is considered exotic.
